The main part of Miyazaki

Miyazaki Jingu is a Shinto shrine located in the city of Miyazaki, in the southern part of Japan's Kyushu region. It is dedicated to Emperor Jimmu, the legendary first Emperor of Japan, who is said to have established the nation over 2,600 years ago.
The shrine is surrounded by beautiful natural landscapes, including a lush forest, making it a peaceful spot for visitors. The main structure of the shrine is impressive, and visitors can experience traditional Shinto rituals, such as prayer and purification. The large torii gate at the entrance is one of the notable features.
Miyazaki Jingu is also known for its annual events, such as the New Year celebrations, where many locals come to pray for health, prosperity, and good fortune. If you're interested in Japanese culture and history, visiting this shrine is a great way to connect with Japan's ancient traditions.

Located in Heiwadai Park in Miyazaki City, the Peace Tower (also known as Heiwadai Tower) is a historical monument built in 1940 to commemorate the 2,600th anniversary of the founding of Japan, according to ancient mythology.
The tower was originally called the Hakkō Ichiu Tower, based on the Japanese phrase “Hakkō Ichiu” (八紘一宇), which means “all the world under one roof.” This concept was used to express a vision of global unity. However, during World War II, the phrase was also used to justify Japan's military expansion, and this has made its meaning controversial today.
After the war, the tower was renamed the Peace Tower to promote peace and reflection on the past. Today, it stands as a reminder of history and a hope for a peaceful future.
Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the city and surrounding nature from Heiwadai Park, and explore the nearby Saitobaru Burial Mounds, one of Japan’s ancient archaeological sites.
